A number of our work programmes are about making sure that people can access good quality services at the most appropriate time and place.  The information in the boxes below gives an overview of the work we are doing to support this.

Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)

The IAPT programme has one principal aim: to support Primary Care Trusts in implementing the NICE guidelines for people suffering from depression and anxiety disorders. Click here to find out more about this work across the North East.

Early Intervention

Historically this programme has focused on Early Intervention in Psychosis, however, the emphasis now is on broadening this work to encompass early access to a wider range of mental health services.

Personality Disorder

Following a successful conference in March 2009 this programme will continue to support a regional strategy group to develop Personality Disorder services and make best use of NICE guidelines and commissioning guidance.

Dual Diagnosis

We are currently working with health and social care colleages in Middlesbrough and South of Tyne to map available services for people with a dual diagnosis.  This work will inform future commissioning and provision of dual diagnosis services.
