NEMHDU has begun a 6 month project supporting the Tees region with the implementation of their crisis care concordat action plan. The crisis care concordat is a national initiative which, in essence, mandates a commitment from regional services involved in supporting people in a mental health crisis to work together to improve access to crisis services, integrate service delivery, improve the experience of care and to develop preventative services to reduce the buden on crisis services.
The Tees Crisis Board have agreed a crisis care concordat action plan, which we are helping the named organisations to deliver. NEMHDUs main focus is to:
- identify and appraise non ambulance transport options
- lead the development of an integrated operational policy for crisis response across police, ambulance, acute hospital, A&E and A&E liaison services
- review the CQC themed review of crisis services for the region and produce a report.
